Tuesday 15th December – bike *** – Two Rivers, Orwell to the Deben including lunch at Landguard – cloudy and mild.

The gloom continues here in Felixstowe with a huge blocking high pressure stuck over the UK, actually there is no sunshine in the forecast until after Christmas but at least it is continuing mild with light winds which makes it ideal for bike riding. So, the usual morning at home then with a flask of homemade soup with the tires pumped up we set off just after midday heading down to Langer Park. Then onto Felixstowe Dock viewing point and onto our lunch spot the old jetty at Landguard which we quickly spotted the Eider duck that has been here for several days now, shame it was a long way out on the River Orwell. It was too cool to sit for long so after walking down to see the cormorants drying their wings and with the tide low the long sweeping beach back towards Felixstowe looked as impressive as ever! It was then back across the nature reserve with loads of rabbits but very few people were out and about this afternoon:) We whizzed along the quiet prom with Mag turning up Bent Hill while I continued all the way to Felixstowe ferry where I spotted a friend launching the Felixstowe Ferry rowing boat for a row on the River Deben. I took some more pics; I never tire of taking photos here before returning home the short route across the gold course to the town centre. Home for a cuppa but no cake, we are only having that at weekends at the moment!
